Designed by Alejandro Tapias and hand-carved by Kamentza artisans. This centerpiece is intricately veneered with over 45,000 glass beads, applied one by one. Its organic pattern draws inspiration from the Brachygnathus angusticollis beetle, native to the humid tropical forests of Colombia.

Alejandro Tapias is an internationally recognized Colombian designer whose practice bridges European training with the ancestral craftsmanship of his homeland. After studying at Italy’s IED, he returned to Colombia to co-create with local ethnic communities, making the artisan’s ritual the primary architect of each object. From sculptural beadwork to traditional weaving, his work celebrates provenance and the human hand, positioning living heritage within the global landscape of collectible design.
