Designed by Alejandro Tapias and hand-carved by Kamentza artisans. This vase is veneered with 25,000 glass beads set individually by hand by Kamentza craftswomen. Its organic pattern is inspired by the Cerambycidae beetle, a species known for its striking presence in the humid tropical forests of Colombia.

Alejandro Tapias is an internationally recognized Colombian designer whose practice bridges European training with the ancestral craftsmanship of his homeland. After studying at Italy’s IED, he returned to Colombia to co-create with local ethnic communities, making the artisan’s ritual the primary architect of each object. From sculptural beadwork to traditional weaving, his work celebrates provenance and the human hand, positioning living heritage within the global landscape of collectible design.
